Week 2 (01-31-18) - Lightning Talk

During this week's meeting, every single team proceeded to deliver their lightning talks. The 1/12th scale track and manufacturing team's lightning talk can be found below. This lightning talk covered the motivation behind the research of Spartan Superway, our completed design from last year, and our overall current progress regarding the project. Also, during the weekend, the team gathered outside of the design center and placed orders of miscellaneous parts such as fasteners, as well as the aluminum that is much needed for the track. After our meeting on the weekend, I picked up the metal bender that we factored out in our BOM from Harbor Freight. With this metal bender brought in this week, we tested the performance and found some defective issues that needed to be addressed when we start fabricating.

Week 1 (01-24-18) - Getting the Spring Semester Started

During this week, the Superway team finally met up after their winter break. To start the session, there was an informational meeting held with Dr. Winncy Du regarding formatting with the documentation for the class. After the meeting concluded, everyone went towards the Spartan Superway design center. Looking to get the semester started on the correct footing, Dr. Furman and management set up lightning talks for week 2 and told everyone to get started on getting everyone updated on the progress of their projects. In addition to planning the lightning talks, AJ asked the 12th scale teams regarding any issues finalizing their Bill of Materials. Along with talks regarding finalizing bill of materials, we communicated with the bogey team to reduce the inside track width. We have received the greenlight from management to start ordering parts since our budget has also been approved. Moving forward, we hope that we can start ordering parts and get to building as soon as possible.
